First, we would like to thank all of our local customers for your support and loyalty to our Utah Farms Chocolate Milk.  Please accept our most sincere apologies for the inconvenience of not having any product available at this time.  We are in the process of constructing our processing plant in Delta, Utah that will give Utah Farms the opportunity to offer more products to our customers.  In the past we’ve had only chocolate milk quarts available, with this new processing facility we will be able to offer pints, and gallons of our delicious chocolate milk and add white milk as well in these sizes.

Along with those products we will have our seasonal eggnog available from November through January of each year.  Our product will be the same great taste and local label everyone is accustom to, with a slightly different packaging that we feel showcases our product in a more familiar and natural way.  We will keep all of our customers informed of our progress.  Utah Farms is expecting to resume deliveries of product to stores by mid November 2011.

Tony has been milking cows since the early 1960′s when they shipped the milk in cans to the Brooklawn Creamery in Delta, Utah. He helped with the farming operation and did much custom work in his late teen years.  From this meager start the dairy has grown to what it is now.  The family has been involved since the beginning and is still involved now.

Kris’s grandfather owned a dairy in Coalville, Utah and she started helping at an early age.  As a teenager she helped with the care of both cows and calves and helped with harvesting hay and grains.

Tony’s father, Conard Stanworth, built the dairy facility that Tony is milking in now in 1972 with the help of Tony and Tony’s brothers and mother.  This facility has been owned and operated by the Stanworth family since then.

Tony has been involved with the dairy until 1993 when he and Kris were offered the opportunity to buy the cows and lease the dairy facilities from Tony’s father.  Since then Tony and Kris have milked their cows there with the help of their children.

Rain, snow or shine the cows always have to be milked, fed and cared for.  Knowing this has made the dairy a prime place to teach their children the importance of hard work and dependability.  Hard work has its own way of teaching how to meet a challenge and  work through hard times.

When asked why they stay in the business, Tony answers that he is too old to start over and too young to quit.  Tony and Kris enjoy the challenge and the pride in producing a quality product.

Along with the dairy, Tony serves as regional representative for the Utah Dairy Commission.

We are a family run farm that enjoys working with and caring for our cattle. Our goal is to not only breed, but to work with the best cattle possible. Over the years we have partnered with several animals which we have helped grow and develop and eventually show in the big shows. We appreciate those great individual animals and their breeders for allowing us the opportunity to work with their great cattle.

Our philosophy is simple, we use all modern tools available for sire selection. However we use what we think is missing for most dairymen that is the look/see method. We believe a very important tool in breeding is to actually see the bulls daughters and dams when ever possible. In todays environment it takes a little more effort. The current Holstein lists of bulls in dairy magazines is nice reading material but often fails to factor in the most important traits we should be using.

We go to great lengths to determine how to use each bull correctly. We believe by making as correct a mating as possible we can have some assurance we will continue to develop great individuals.

Established in 1981 by Joe and Gloria Andrade and their children Cindy and David members since August 2003.

They ran the family farm by purchasing 60 Holstein cows and started milking and farming in Hilmar, California. Gloria milked cows while Joe took care of the outside chores, and Cindy and David helped where they could.

The family dairy did well and the herd continued to grow with calves maturing into cows over the years. The Andrade Family was milking over 500 Holstein cows when Joe and Gloria were finally looking to purchase a dairy that was large enough to accommodate all the herd’s cows and young stock, and still have room to grow.

With limited expansion abilities and high land values in California, Joe and Gloria moved their family farm to Utah’s Millard County where they purchased their own land in 1993. Quickly brush ground was developed into the family’s new dairy facility with their house above the milk barn.

Cindy left for college and majored in Communications with an English minor, and David was given more responsibility in caring for the milk cows. David graduated from Delta High School and then pursued college at Southern Utah University where he majored in Music Education. After he graduated he taught music at Delta Middle School.

The Andrade Dairy and Farms were expanded in 2004 to include another dairy in Sanpete county. In 2007, as Joe was transporting feed to the Sanpete county Dairy; he lost control of his truck when the front tire blew and passed away. David stepped away from teaching to help his mother manage both dairies.

Gloria and David love working in the Dairy Industry and look forward to the launch of “Utah Farms” chocolate milk and eggnog.

The dinner will feature food farmed and produced locally in Utah.  Much of the food is being donated by local companies like Utah Farms.

Utah Farms’ donations and involvement is  their way of giving back while encouraging people to buy local.

The Rescue Mission does not receive any government funds, so donations are encouraged at their website. They do have other services they offer their guests including addiction recovery and job placement assistance.
